Obituary of Josephine Louise Nielsen
Josephine Louise Nielsen, wife of Anders "Peter" Nielsen of Rothesay, NB, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Born in Windsor, NS on January 20, 1940, she was a daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Leighton) Sutton. Josephine was employed with the government, working for several years in the Payroll Department, then joining her husband at Abel Garden Service as a bookkeeper, and raising her family. She was a Camp Director and a Leader for the Girl Guides in Rothesay. She enjoyed needlework and knitting.
Besides her husband, Josephine is survived by her children; John Stephenson (Kim) of Fredericton, NB, Shelley Nielsen of Saint John, and Inger Nielsen of Rothesay, siblings; Jackie Sutton (Vera) of BC, Austin Sutton (Marsha) of NS, Lala Sherwood of Saint John, Ronnie Sutton (Michelle) of Saint John, Blaine Sutton, Brenda Sutton of Saint John, and Reggie Sutton (Cheryl) of Quispamsis, sister-in-law Audrey Sutton, grandchildren; Tiffany, Branden, Chelsea, Danielle, Marcus, and Jenny, great-grandchildren; Landon, Abigail, Serenity, Silas, Justin, and Nevaeh, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Josephine was predeceased by her brother Roy, and grandson Matthew Andreas Bryant.
At Josephine's request, there will be no visiting or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). Remembrances may be made to the NB Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
