Obituary of Gladys Marjorie Titus
In appreciation of a life well lived, the family of Gladys Marjorie (Henderson) Titus, wife of the late Eldon Titus, announces her passing at the age of 96 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre on Monday, October 14, 2019. Born in Holderville, NB on March 19, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Thurlow and Grace (Crawford) Henderson and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Gladys worked and lived on the family farm at Gorham's Bluff until 2017. A local historian and avid genealogist, she recorded a diary for over 70 years. She was a member of Long Reach United Church, Peninsula Heritage, Peninsula Pearls and Kings County Historical Society.
Gladys is survived by her sons: William (Marlene), Ross (Anne) and Reid (Nancy) Titus; daughters, Beth (John) Quigley and Deanna Cosman; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; cousins, Sadie and Barb; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Gordon and John; sisters: Charlotte, Margaret, Mary, Jean and Elizabeth, son-in-law Allan Cosman and daughter-in-law Lynda Titus and special friend, Eldon Chetley.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visitation at Kingston Parish Hall, 3946 Route 845, Kingston on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Long Reach United Church, 3232 Route 845, Long Reach on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Long Reach United Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Gladys may be made to Long Reach United Church, Dr. V.A. Snow Centre or charity of the donor's choice.
