Dear Mary and to all of Barb's family. I have such fond memories of Barb and her beautiful smile. She was one of the first nurses I met when I started to work at St Joe's. She always thought of the patient first and was an excellent nurse and person. I can still remember the smell of baking bread, talking about swimming in her pool in the middle of the night, and informing me of the proper way of getting in line for the Gondola Point Ferry, and her days at the Kingston Market. About 6 months ago I was in my office and could hear her special laugh coming from Eleanor Black's office... sure enough I went around the corner and there was her smiling face. She gave me a big hug and made my day. She was a very special lady... I will always remember her kindness and beautiful smile. Mary Gatien

I know her life revolved around her family, friends, patients, church and community! The picture is exactly the Barb I knew, from working at St. Joseph's Hospital, always smiling and laughing! She was a wonderful nurse and shared her other gifts generously, during her career and after she retired! She was a blessing in many ways... I know your faith will bring you comfort and sustain you, at this difficult time...
