Obituary of Phyllis Ann Gilchrist
Surrounded by her husband, Murray, and good friends, Joyce and Dale Shaw, Phyllis Ann Gilchrist passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on September 21, 1927 in Saint John, Phyllis was employed with Sears for twenty-seven years. She was a member of True Life Church (formerly Rothesay Baptist Church), and enjoyed shopping and traveling to Florida with Murray. Phyllis was involved with the Youth Ministry in Central and Rothesay, especially with the three year old program, as well as with the Awana Group.
Besides her husband of 66 years, Phyllis is survived by her sisters, Pat Tilley of Sarnia, ON, Eileen MaGee (Ralph) of Saint John, Rachel Hooper (Bob) of Moncton, and Suzanne Theriault of Quispamsis, brother George Kyffin (Carol) of Quispamsis, brother-in-law, Fred Blanchard (Sandy) of Sussex, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her son Ronald, sisters; Marjorie Gilchrist (Ron), Karen Blanchard, brother Blair Kyffin, brother-in-laws; Steve Tilley, and Richard Theriault.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting at True Life Church 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis, on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will take place at True Life Church, on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
