Obituary of Percy Everett Lamb
Percy Everett Lamb, 91, passed peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing, Saint John, NB. Born September 19, 1925 at Perry Point, Kingston, NB, he was the son of the late Mary E. (Clark) (Lamb) Colpitts and Percy St. Clair Lamb and husband of the late Mary A. (Dunham) Lamb.
A Veteran of World War II, Percy served in the Navy on the HMS Quesnel. After the war he operated the ferry crossing from Perry Point to Model Farm. He then started at Downey Motors where he worked for 25 years, moving up to Sales Manager before starting his own dealership, Lamb Ford Sales Ltd, in Sussex, NB.
Percy was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons of New Brunswick, The N.B. Lodge #22, receiving his 50-year pin in 2009. He was also a past member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20, a Member of The Rotary Club of Sussex from 1981 to 2000 serving as President for the 87-88 year, a member of the Sussex Chamber of Commerce and Ducks Unlimited.
Percy enjoyed playing pool and cards, hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, snowmobiling, travelling and entertaining family and friends on the Belleisle or at his winter home in Florida.
Percy will be greatly missed by his children Marilyn Cormier, Saint John, NB, Larry Lamb, Cranbrook, BC, Stephen Lamb (Marion), Sussex Corner, NB, Terry Lamb (Lori), Hampton, NB, Gregory Lamb, Victoria, BC; grandchildren Andrea Docherty (Lindsay), Monica Seaman, Terrance Cormier (Angela), Cerry Lamb (Mya), Lindsay Lamb, Tracy Cromwell (Keith), Kristina Lamb, and Shannon Lamb; 11 great-grandchildren; step-children David Burley (Theresa), Diane MacKenney (Wayne), James Burley, and Kevin Burley; brother Donald Lamb (Annette) and sisters Alma Erb, Marina Seymour Lemon, and Helen Tayes; and many other loving family and friends.
Percy was predeceased by his three brothers Wilfred, Frederick and Murray, and one sister, Marion O’Connor.
Percy’s family would like to express a most sincere thank you to the nurses and staff at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing for their amazing compassion and exceptional care.
Arrangements entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd, Quispamsis with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, and funeral service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Erb's Cove Cemetery, Erb's Cove, NB.
