Obituary of Ronald Lloyd Smitheram
Surrounded by his family, the death of Ronald Lloyd Smitheram, of Quispamsis, husband of M. Barbara (Abray) Smitheram, occurred on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born on July 13, 1939, in Windsor, ON, he was the son of the late Ivan and Ethel (Carlson) Smitheram. Ron was a brewmaster at Labatt's Breweries in London, ON, and then Saint John until it closed. He owned the Train Trax Hobby Shop in Rothesay for several years until his retirement. Ron was a Queen and King Scout and was a member of Master Brewer’s Association of America. He enjoyed golfing, stamp collection, model trains, and art. Ron will be missed for his feisty sense of humor.
Besides his wife, Ron is survived by his daughter, Amanda Smitheram (Tim Maxwell) of Quispamsis, sister Joan McKaye of Apsley, ON, and his beloved cat Baxter.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1PM. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
