Glenn: Please accept sincere sympathy from Gloria and me on the passing of your mother. I have warm memories of both your parents from days now long past. I regret that I will be unable to attend the service for her as I am in Alberta this week on church related matters. Peter Moore will bring brief remarks on my behalf. You are in my prayers.

Pastor Charles & Shirley Yerxa posted a condolence
Sending our love to Glenn, Jennifer, Amy, Scott, son-in-law David and Great Aunt Katherine. My(Shirley) mother Velma Porter adored her Aunt Evelyn who was 2 yrs her senior. We used to take Mum and her cousin Myrtle Johnson Yerxa (Hannah Collicott's daughter)to visit Aunt Evelyn when she lived in Saint John and we all played Scrabble. We took Aunt Evelyn with the 4 of us up to visit Aunt Clara Porter Stewart in Marysville one day. We thought the world of Aunt Evelyn and as we moved back to Medutic in 2006 just never got to visit again but were always planning to and I had a note in my memo book "visit Aunt Evelyn." My mother Velma always asked "have you heard anything about Aunt Evelyn?" and we would say "let's call Aunt Katherine and see if she has talked to her lately. Velma spent a number of years in a nursing home before she passed away at age 95 1/2 on July 26/15. We did our visits with Aunt Evelyn when we had our mothers down to visit us from Meductic when we lived in Maces Bay and Kingston and St. George. We actually had a meal with Uncle Scott and Aunt Evelyn at their cottage at Beulah one time and they had a meal with us at the parsonage in Maces Bay. Uncle Scott prayed a beautiful prayer at special meetings we had at St. George Baptist. She lived a life worthy of her master's "Well done thou good and faithful servant." My mother and Great Grammy Durling went together to Scott and Evelyn's wedding on Grand Manan. God bless each of you as you mourn the loss of this beautiful woman and rejoice that she is united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her dear Scottie and precious daughter, Audrey, and all who have gone before including my precious mother, Velma or Vem as Aunt Evelyn called her.

Remembering you, Glen & Jennifer, Amy & Scott, as we know you will miss Aunt Evelyn very much. You have taken good care of her and we know by her strong faith that she is with the Lord. Her spirituality has been a great example for us all. She and Uncle Scott were a great encouragement to me early in my own ministry. You have many wonderful memories to cherish. We cherish the memory of her ministry with Uncle Scott, her voice and piano playing was heartwarming. Pat and I had a good visit with her in July. I was able to sing a couple of songs for her, having just arrived at the end of a Sunday afternoon service. I think I sang "Born Again" and "Amazing Grace". Just think, "When we've been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise, than when we first begun". So, as much as we will miss her, we know she lived her life for this wonderful day in heaven. We couldn't wish her back, but we will one day go to her. I'm very sorry we can't be there on Wednesday. But be assured of our prayers. Love, Marven & Pat

Mrs. Ingersoll was the kindest woman I have ever met. She was in charge of the men's dorm when I attended Bethany for four years in the early 80's. I was a homesick kind of a guy and she made sure I felt loved and cared for. She had a great sense of humour and we had fun teasing each other. This is a woman who will sit very close to her Lord in her heavenly home. My life is better because I knew her. Dan Walker
