I can't begin to tell you what Jim meant to me but I'm sure feelings are echoed by the thousands of people he came into contact with. He made you feel special and remembered details any other person would have long forgotten about. He was super human in his representation of Riverside. He was the genuine article. He fought hard to stay with us to enjoy his family for as long as he could. For all you gave and how you made us feel, Thank you Jim. Lots of love Justin

It's been years since I last saw Jim, but I must share a memory that speaks to the kind of person he was. Jim hired me to work at The Pro Shop, a small sporting goods store he owned on Union St. I was going to university at the time and really needed the job. I learned much later after Jim sold the store and became the pro at Riverside, that one of the conditions for the new owners was that they couldn't let me go as long as I was going to university in Saint John...just the kind of guy he was. Thanks Jim,

My heartfelt condolences to the Connolly Family. Jim was a true gentleman and I considered him a friend. Although I have been in Calgary for 17 years I still think of my days at Riverside often and especially Jim. I have so many great memories of Jim both on the course and off; especially when we built him a small computer program for him to track his sales back in the 80's...he never stopped thanking me. I also still hear him in my head when my swing gets off plane too!! One of the nicest things he did for me when I left for Calgary was write on the back of his business cards "free golf for life at Riverside CC" and signed it. It's still in my golf bag. We will all miss him, he was the best!!

Pam, Greg & Don: Words alone cannot describe the relationship I was privileged to enjoy with Jim. Always the eternal optimist, never one to complain (even through his years of pain and suffering) and certainly never a disparaging word towards anyone. He truly earned the love and respects of his multitude of friends and peers alike - we have lost such a wonderful role model. I was Jim's roommate for more than 25 years on those wonderful Snowbirds' golf trips to Florida and it was during these times our friendship grew and flourished - times never to be forgotten. Rest in peace dear friend. Bob Kane

Our most sincere condolences to all of you. Jim was just an awesome human being, kind, considerate and he certainly loved what he did. Our entire family thought very highly of him. I remember when the girls started out in the "Little Swingers" program years ago they LOVED that he knew who they were and took the time to get them to know they as people. I guess that's probably one of the things we admired about him, his genuine interest in the lives of those he touched. He will be missed. Hugs and prayers to you.

We were all saddened to hear of Jim's passing. The first time I met Jim ,it was evident that he was someone who had special qualities. In traveling throughout North America, I have been privileged to meet outstanding Golf Professionals. Jim was on the short list of people who exemplified what it meant to be a Golf Professional. Empathetic, loyal, professional, compassionate and caring are only a few characteristics that Jim displayed day in, day out. His legacy is a list of Golf Professionals he touched that will keep his spirit with us.

It's been many years since I spoke to Jim I remember school and Jim but always at the way he always treated people. He treated them with respect and dignity. Once you became his friend was a friend for lifetime I remember the day I went to the course and tclubhouse hat with him any told me to come back later and I did so he told me to go out and enjoy my golf and I did so with my best friend Dave Watts and Dave and Jim have known each other for many years I'm sure that on his behalf I offer their condolences as they are traveling to Florida to play the only game that they loved golf. Margot MacDonald let us know that he had passed but on that day when I went back in the clubhouse he handed me a tag for my bag and on and it said on honorary lifetime member and on the back he wrote you could always play golf here one never forgets this total dedication to Friendship. On behalf of my wife and children we offer our sympathy and prayers. As time goes by in the future I know because it is kindness he will always be remembered and brought up in conversation may the Lord bless you at this time Billy Dickie
