Obituary of Irene Louise Walton
Irene Louise Walton (Koval) passed away with her loving family at her bedside Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born at Gondola Point N.B February 17, 1939 the daughter
of Mike and Stella Koval, survived by her loving husband John (Jack) of 58 years and her brother Mike Koval of Kingston.
She is also survived by two sons, Barry of Kingston and his wife Barbara, Michael of Quispamsis and his wife, Angela. Grandsons Scott, Brian, Keith, Matthew and Thomas. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
She is a graduate of Rothesay Regional high school; she worked at Ocean Steel and Princess Elizabeth School. She served as village clerk for Village of Gondola Point, board of directors of Rocmaura nursing home and served as a board member of the Hampton Golf club. She loved playing golf and playing cards with friends. She was an active advocate for the Canadian breast cancer foundation, Atlantic chapter and was an avid paddler on the Breast Ahoy Dragon Boat team. She took a lot of pleasure from her grandsons and never missed any of their basketball games.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all those involved in Irene’s healthcare. The family is very grateful to the entire staff, volunteers, and other families at Bobby’s Hospice for the care and compassion they offered Irene and her family in her final weeks.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Sunday, from 2:00 - 7:00 PM . Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 12:00 PM, a private family interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Bobby's Hospice, or charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.kennebecasisfh.com
