Obituary of Calvin Othid Ogilvie
It is with great sadness that the family of Calvin "Cal" Ogilvie announces his passing, which occurred peacefully on February 26, 2017 at Kings Way Care Centre. He was born on June 20, 1927 in Burlington, NS. Cal was the husband of the late Edith (Hoar) Ogilvie and the son of the late Jacob and Viola Ogilvie.
"Cal" was a gentle, kind and soft spoken man who was guided by his strong faith and service to the Lord, living each day to the fullest.
Cal is survived by his daughters: Holly Jones (Peter), Heather Matchett, grandchildren; Debbie, Brandon Jones and Justin, Bryan Matchett, brother; Mac, brother-in-law; Leslie Saunders.
He was predeceased by his wife Edith and sisters; Marian Huntley, Myrna Saunders, Bessie Jordan, Eleanor Ogilvie, brothers; Francis and Everett.
A special thank-you to all the staff at St. Joseph's Health & Aging Program and especially to all at Kings Way Care Centre who provided exceptional care and love, that was given to my dad.
Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) have been entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation or to the Kings Way Care Centre.
