Obituary of Richard Edward McNulty
It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Richard (Rick) Edward McNulty of Quispamsis, which occurred on May 19, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, husband of the late Susan (Hutchinson) McNulty. Rick was born in Saint John on October 25, 1946, son of the late Vera (Johnston) (McNulty) Taylor and Richard E. McNulty. Rick was retired from the Air Force where he was a PER officer for most of his working life. He was very proud of his Military career and made many lifelong friends during his 26 years of service. There was nothing Rick loved more than his family. His devotion and unwavering love was the foundation upon which we stand together. His crazy sense of humour, willingness to help anyone in need and gentle giant presence will be celebrated and missed always. Rick is survived by his daughter Angela Lyn McNulty-Buell (Mike) of Victoria BC, his son Christopher James McNulty (Jennifer) of Ohio, grandchildren; Kali, Jodi, Mikayla, Lily, Kara, Logan, Bradonia, Zoe, Janelle, brothers; Pat McNulty (Cheryl) of Saint John, Terry McNulty (Laura) of Bathurst, Shawn McNulty (Janet) of Quispamsis, Mark McNulty (Sue), sisters; Veronica Chamberlain (Ronnie), Frances McNulty, Mary-Jane Forsythe, Rose McNulty and Beth Cooper (Robert) all of Quispamsis, many nieces and nephews and his special friend Ellen Logan. Besides his wife and parents, Rick was predeceased by his daughter Laura (McNulty) O'Dell , son in law Gregory O'Dell, step father George and brother David McNulty. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 3 to 7 PM. A Legion Tribute Service will be held at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Quispamsis, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10 AM. Remembrances may be made to the local chapter of MADD Saint John or to the charity of the donor's choice.
