Obituary of Barbara Anne Pickard
The death of Barbara Anne Pickard of Pasadena, California, wife of the late Charles Pickard, occurred on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at home in Pasadena.
Born in Saint John on February 20, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Olive (Prince) Donovan. Barb was raised in Saint John and graduated from Mount Camel Academy and was then employed with Revenue Canada. She then moved to Montreal where she was employed with RCA. Barbara moved to California where she worked in the banking and insurance field for several years. She was a member of Sts. Felicitas and Perpetua Church, the Seniors Centre in Pasadena and the Pasadena Women's Club and she enjoyed gardening and enjoyed visiting her family home in Canada.
Barb is survived by her sister Janet Devlin (Paul) of Rothesay, brothers; Douglas Donovan (Betty) and Jack Donovan (Carole), both of Rothesay, nieces; Lynne White (Gerry), Suzanne Dockrill (Perry), Susan Tweedie, Pamela Donovan, and Christina Thorne (Brian), nephews; Brian Cooke (Christina), David Cooke (Debbie), Keith Ratchford (Heather MacInnes), and Tony Ratchford (Suzanne), as well as great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Barb was predeceased by her sisters; Elizabeth Jeanne Tweedie, and Mary Cooke, nephews; Mark Donovan and Michael Tweedie, and brother in law Robert "Bob" Cooke.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Monday, July 24 from 3 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11 AM . Interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
