Obituary of Mary Geraldine Mahoney
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mary Geraldine "Gerrie", wife of Sean Mahoney, occurred on Tuesday, May 2, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on June 21, 1949, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Peter J.A. and Mary Geraldine (Keleher) McIntyre. Gerrie was employed as a Paralegal at Gilbert McGloan Gillis Legal Firm for several years until her retirement. In her younger years, she loved spending summers at Third Lake with her family. Gerrie enjoyed camping and scrapbooking. She loved Christmas, but most of all her family tradition of Boxing Day. Gerrie cherished her family and will be greatly missed.
Survived by her loving husband, Sean Mahoney, her children, Karen Trecartin (Michael) of Quispamsis, Christopher MacNair (Deborah) of Quispamsis, and stepson, Kevin Mahoney of Amherst, NS; sisters, Mary Lou Cormier of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Twyla Knox (Hazen) of BC, and Sheila Harrison (David) of Quispamsis; brother James McIntyre of Oshawa, ON; grandchildren, Madison MacNair, Julia MacNair Nason, Sean, Nicholas, and William Trecartin,and step grandson, Damien Mahoney and step grandson, Damien Mahoney; sisters in law, Jane MacFarlane of Calgary, AB, and Flora Soriano of Saint John, extra special best friend Wendy Lavigne, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gerrie was predeceased by her sister Anne Marie McIntyre, and brother Peter McIntyre.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispasmis, (849-2119) with visiting on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
