Dear cousins all, Thinking about you all & the times shared when we were just up the road from you, but most especially now with the loss of your wonderful dad. The memories made between uncle Jim & dad over all the years, the stories we reminisce of often are a treasure to behold. Uncle Jim was a most loving man with a presence that was of the the kindest nature always. You're all in our prayers and we will continue to tell uncle Jim stories and keep him alive in our hearts always. God bless each of you as you walk this walk. Love, cousin Sadie & Tom xoxo

Hi cousins (kids n grandkids) of Uncle Jaime & Aunt Mary Therese, The first time I saw Uncle Jim, he had just landed back from the War, , maybe 1953? A big handsome man ,who swaggered into Baie Verte Swept my Aunt Mary Therese Shelley off her feet , .the rest is history. Everyone of us fell in love with him, . He was a big, good hearted ,gentle Man, Everyone in our family wanted to be around him, his stories of the World, his gentle love for Aunt Mary Therese, his love for his family, for our family, We all loved him, And what stuck in my memory was his utmost love for our Aunt Mary Therese, shone thru like bright stars from above. How lucky we all were to know such a Gentle Giant. RIP Uncle Jim, you are now with your soulmate, Aunt Mary Therese. Love and condolences to the whole ,beautiful family

So sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, the "Gentle Giant". We have many humerous and loving memories of your dad as well as the rest of you. You were always great neighbours and friends to the Downey's. Sarah speaks of whenever she met your dad he would give a big bear hug and lift her off her feet (which wasn't an easy thing to do! All 4' 10" of her lol.). Ron would like to remind you of his special relationship with you all, especially Norb and Jim and how he always felt welcome and at home when he visited. He would like for you to know that he shares in your loss and that you are kept in his prayers. The combined thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you from the Mercer and Downey families, especially Irene who asks to send a special condolence. May you draw strength from the comfort of family and friends and may God richly bless you. With Love, Sarah and Bruce and the rest of the crew
