Obituary of Allan Lorne McKay Dodge
Allan Lorne McKay Dodge, husband of Linda (Andrews) Dodge, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2014. Born in Moncton, NB on February 16th 1944, Allan was the son of the late John and Violet Dodge.
He graduated from Simonds Regional High School in 1962. Through his involvement with the Simonds Air Cadet Squadron 527, he obtained his pilots license and then spent two years with the RCAF. After graduating from UNB, Allan embarked on a 33 year teaching career at Simonds High School, retiring in 2004.
Allan enjoyed skiing, sailing, the occasional round of golf; as well as, spending time with family and friends. He served as a ground instructor for Fundy Aviation, navigation instructor for the Kennebecasis Power and Sail Squadron; and a ski instructor at Poley Mountain. Allan was a long time member at the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club. Of all of his achievements he was most proud of his two children Stephanie and Jonathan.
Allan is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Stephanie (Craig), son Jonathan, granddaughter Lauren Chase, and brothers Jack (Mary) of St. Lucia, Florida , Robin (Joan) of Kelowna BC and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB with visitation on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11 am from Quispamsis United Church. A private family interment will take place following the reception .
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Simonds High School Scholarship Fund, Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
