Obituary of Bertha Sherriff
The death of Bertha Sherriff occurred on February 2, 2015 at Kingsway Care Centre in Quispamsis. Born in Murton County, Durham, England on August 4, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Mary Hudson.
She is survived by her only daughter; Patricia Todd and son-in-law Bill Todd and grandchildren; Julie, Lisa and Melissa. Also survived by her great grandchildren whom she cherished so deeply; Mark, Alex, Nick, Anna, Maddy, Sophie, Jessie, Will & Lucas.
Bertha was very involved in her community in England and continued to be so when immigrating to Canada in 1979. She was involved in the Murton Amateur Operatic Society, ran the Women’s institute, and was President of the Seniors Citizen club. She was an avid fan of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports activities and rarely missed an event until the last few years.
Bertha was a fun-loving and highly engaged grandmother. She will be incredibly missed by her entire family and all those who knew her.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service to take place at 2:00 PM from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Donor's Choice.
