Obituary of Barbara Jean MacCready
It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Jean MacCready announces her passing on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Barbara, the daughter of Gordon and Ruby (Evans) Cooper, was born on September 29, 1931 in Saint John.
Barbara was loving wife to the late John MacCready of Quispamsis. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Beth; son-in-law, Tim Dewar; and much adored grandchildren, Jonathan and Rebecca. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Cooper (Winifred), and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s greatest joys were her family, friends, and pet Shih-Tzus. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and kind heart. Barbara was always willing to share conversation, a cup of tea, and definitely a sweet treat.
The family would sincerely like to thank all of Barbara’s dearest friends: Lidia Elliott, Bonnie Rans, Kathleen Marshall, the Dewar brothers, Treva White, Claudia Small, Eleanor Smidt, Kathy Macdonald, Janet McLeod, Sandra McNeil, Amy Bourgaize, Andrew Hardt, Amanda Morehouse, Deantha Edmunds, The Rev. George Eves, and the compassionate staff of 5CN.
Barbara will be resting at the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, February 8 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 9 at St.Luke’s Anglican Church, Quispamsis Rd. at 1:00 p.m.
Donations in Barbara’s memory to the Saint John Animal Rescue League would be most appreciated.
