Obituary of Raymond John Johnston

 

The passing of Raymond John Johnston of Saint John, NB, formerly of Grey's Mills (Long Reach) Kingston Peninsula occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2019.

 

Raymond was born April 7, 1935 to Walter and Cynthia (Smith) Johnston, besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter, Melody Joy Johnston, his brother Earl Johnston and sister-in-law Edith Fullerton (Johnston), his nephew Wayne Johnston and niece Linda Titus (Johnston). Leaving to mourn his best friend and companion, Joan Johnston of Saint John, his son Ronald Johnston (Lana) Estevan, SK; grandchildren, Alisha Flecknell (Craig) of Saint John, Jordan Johnston (Donald) of Hampton and Aaron Johnston of Rothesay; two great-granddaughters, his most treasured, Dahlia-Joan Flecknell of Fredericton, and Rylan Whitney of Hampton; Norma Waddell of Kingston; nieces Marlene Titus (Bill), Kim Nickerson (Nick), Karen Piers (Vernon) and nephew Daryl Johnston.

 

Raymond was a self-employed painter for many years. The last few years his health declined and with the care of Bayshore Homecare Workers, we thank you so very much for all your kindness and help. Also Raymond has dear friends David and Ada Waddell, he enjoyed all their visits and little treats (which were always well enjoyed)- thank you! A special thank you to Doctor Allen Rombaut and many others at Saint John Regional Hospital. A special thank you to Extra Mural for all their care and kindness given to us.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). At Raymond's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 10:00AM at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Zachary White Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
