Obituary of Brian Collier Lees

It is with heavy hearts the family of Brian Collier Lees, loving husband to Marjorie (Brooks) Lees, announce his passing on July 11, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 1, 1930 in Oldham, England, he was a son of the late William and Eliza (Collier) Lees.

In addition to his wife Marjorie, Brian is survived by his children: Susan (Robert) Pinette, Dion (Wynn) Lees and Karen (Richard) Lees-Brown; grandchildren: Sarah, Robert, Matthew, Andrew, Joshua, Tyler, Kori and Brian; and great-grandchildren: Emily, Abigail, James, Jordan, Lauryn, Kayl, Madison, Hailey and Ryder.

Brian will be remembered for his many loves:

      of Marjorie, the love of his life, and partner for over 65 years

      of his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for whom he will always be remembered as an inspiration and guide

      of science, and a passion to share it with his students and children

      of adventure; by air to a new country, by sea in his sailboat, by river fishing, by road to  yet another fishing hole,  and even by motorbike

      of growing things – from his amazing green thumb, to his love of animals

      of woodworking – he crafted so many treasures; from boats to cutting boards, furniture to trivets, a cottage for Marjorie, a Welsh hutch for Karen, a xylophone for Emily, and so many more… We are blessed with the legacy of his creations.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). In keeping with Brian's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, or a charity of the donor's choice.
