To the Yang family:
I thought you should know that, when I first came to Halifax from Trinidad to study at Dalhousie University in the mid-60's, it was John who met me at the Halifax airport as an executive of the Chinese Students' Association.
When I moved to the Rothesay area to open Kennebecasis Drugs with my business partner, John was my family physician. I always found him to be caring and passionate about his profession. He will be missed by many.
We have made a donation to Hospice Greater Saint John in his memory.

Dear Heather, Linda, Lisa and Stephen,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad. I will remember him always as a kind and loving man. He and Maureen were close friends of my parents, and i remember many dinners at my parents house as a young girl. When my Mom had Lung cancer he often visited the house along with Lisa to check on her and his gentle manner was a comfort to our whole family.
He will be missed.

Dear Lisa, Linda, Heather and Stephen - my deepest condolences to you all at your father‘s passing; he was our family doctor for so many years and your mother and your father often came to mom and dad‘s house to play cards through my childhood. I still can see the rubber vomit on his desk, a great sense of humour, looking in my ears and tapping my knee each time I came in. May you cherish your memories as I will of your father. Blessings, Andrew

Heather, Lisa, Linda, Stephen, spouses, grandchildren, siblings and alk his loved ones
We were heartbroken when we heard about Dr John's passing. He was intertwined in our lives in so many ways. He knew my mom when he was an intern at the old General Hospital and mom was a nurse. She use to tell us about how they would find Dr John curled up in a crib in emerg when he was trying to catch a little sleep on a long shift. Then Heather and I went to physio school at Dalhousie University. Several years later my husband and I opened a physio business and we were fortunate enough to be brought into the family at Loch Lomond Medical clinic. The years we spent there sharing space with Dr John impacted our whole family. He wasn't just a business colleague but a mentor in regard to medical issues and accupuncture. When our daughters would come in he would always find a little treat for them. My mom worked as my assistant right from my start. When Maureen would come in later in the afternoon they always found some time to share a chat in the little cubby hole area we called a kitchen. Then eventually down the road Lisa came to join the family. We were both so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with our parents. My husband worked for Brian in his business for a few summers and we had a chance to watch Dr John interact with his grandchildren at the office. After I left Loch Lomond Clinic I kept in touch with Dr John, Heather and Lisa over the years.
Our family is definitely richer for having had Dr John and his whole family in our lives. He and his family are truly kind caring and special people. It is a big loss to not have Dr John here on earth any longer. However his impact in this world through his beautiful family and all the people he has helped over the decades will live on forever. We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives
We have been keeping you all in our hearts and prayers

hero............1.aperson who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements.or noble qualities..........
I have met and known two real heroes in my life Rev.Dr. Philip Lee,and Dr.John Yang.............ahero to me is one who lives their life, quietly, and gently upon the earth, while showing love and compassion to everyone along their journey.
I met Dr.John Yang, when I was 17,and he came to our home,as I had contacted Bronchitis,I believe my family, were probably among his first patients. And as,I travelled, away from Saint John, for a few years,he remained central in the lives of my parents.
When I returned to Saint John,as a married lady,he was as kind and gracious as always, and continued to help both my Mother, and Father, throughout the years of their lives. To say,my family, quite adored him, would not be an exaggeration,of any kind.
He helped nurture our family,through our Mothers passing,and helped me,as he said,,,,,anyway I can Hedda,,,,,with my Father,coming to our home,to see “Grandfather,frequently............
He would always show me,the pictures of his children, and was so proud of their accomplishments,he was so wonderful to be around, and always inquired about all the members of the MacPherson clan.He was genuinely interested in others, and was always so present when he was talking to you.
Dr Yang, had no idea, how much he had touched our lives, with his Magic Wand of Love,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but I AM forever grateful, for the experience of him,in my life.....................Thank you,Dr.John Yang, for your many kindnesses,,,,,,,,there was no one like you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,We were all Blessed to have known you,,,,,,,,,,,,Heather MacPherson Reed. Dear Lisa
I am sad to hear of your Dad’ passing. Dr John was my family doctor when I was a child and adolescent and I remember his quiet patience, and always so serious! He was one of my earliest mentors as a physician which actually began when I was his patient.
Once I became a ‘colleague ‘ I learned of his lighter and more jovial side. His dedication to profession and family have always inspired me. He will be sadly missed.
