Obituary of Annie Beatrice Hickie
The kitchen is closed; the cook has left the building. After a valiant battle with old age, Annie "The Cook" passed away, August 15, 2019, at the age of 93.
Born October 4, 1925, Annie was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, her parents Lily (Mercer) and Elijah Goosney, her husband William and a daughter Linda (Dave) Bartlett.
Annie is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Conrad) Berube; two sons, John (Joan) Hickie and Tom (Pam) Hickie. Annie is also survived by her much loved furbaby Ginger.
She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Because of her our family grew to 45 direct descendants and most are just as stubborn as she was.
Annie loved to sew and produced many beautiful quilts that have found their way into the homes of those who loved her.
She enjoyed gardening, family, fishing and playing cards. Annie was also a great cook who loved to serve up large family meals along with her delicious homemade bread and lemon squares.
