I remember going to the Reid's cottage in Belleisle with Brenda as a young girl. Of course all her brothers were there - Brian, Bruce and Brock... Great memories of that time and many other times spent with the Reid family - like watching hockey on Saturday nights and eating fried egg sandwiches. I remember the care your dad gave me riding to hospital in his ambulance when I was 15 from an accident.

I was going to Toronto for a school interview, Bruce opened up his house to my mom and I , allowing us to stay with him the day before the interview. He just wanted to help out a friend. We are saddened to hear of Bruce's passing. Our sincere condolences to family members and co-workers. Not only a co-worker but a childhood friend. Growing up in the "Village" was special. Bruce was a lot of fun and he and I even got "married" on a bus trip. We often laughed about him being my first husband, although it didn't last long. He was part of the RCMP/Halifax Benefit Hockey Game as a player. A donation has been made to the HCHK Minor Sports Benefit Hockey Game Trust Fund in his memory. Now at peace....Cheers Bruce!

You wanted to be on his team because you didn’t want to have to block his shot!! I did some police work with Bruce in the late 80s and he was always a dedicated professional. Bruce and I were troopmates back in 80/81 in troop 24. We both hailed from N.B. I was back home from the west a few years back and I hooked up with Bruce. It was a great visit and we shared some old stories of past times in D Block ( dorm ) in Depot. As everyone knows Bruce had a big heart and a great sense of humour. The women and men of the Saint John City Police Retired Members Association send their most sincere condolences on the passing of Bruce. Bruce left his mark during his few years with the Saint John Police Force, his dedication, his caring nature and his smile. Bruce finished his career with S.J.P.F. completing the Police Motorcycle Officers Course where I had the pleasure of working directly with Bruce and benefiting from his dedication to policing. Following Bruces transfer back to the R.C.M.P. I had the distinct pleasure of enjoying his friendly chats when our paths crossed.

My old troop mate. What fun we had in depot, remember you dancing to “Sheena Easton” on the way to the showers each morning at 5.30am. You brought joy to a stressful time in our lives. So many great memories, Bruce and Brock were like family growing up. So many days playing street hockey in the summer,and pond hockey in the winter.
He mistakenly broke my 2 front teeth playing hockey on laidlaw pond. Great memories.

Words cannot express my sadness of such a wonderful person. I have known Bruce since childhood. I will miss that wonderful smile Bruce had when I would see him here and there since moving back to NB.
