Steve and I were room mates in First Battalion Black Watch in 1966 . Four men to a small room , we were close . Steve was always calm , quiet and very respectful of others . A fine soldier , in those days when it was tough , he brought an air of stability in everything he did . Rest in peace Steve , your job is done . Nemo me Impune Lacessit ! ( OBY )

I served with Steve for three years in 3 Mech CDO, 1974-77 and again for two years in 3PPCLI, 1988-90 Steve was an honest hard working devoted soldier. He always gave one hundred percent. He was an excellent leader and mentor for his troops.

Sharon, we are so sorry for your loss. Both George and I knew Steve for many years. I first met him in 1971 in Victoria. He was a great friend to me and was always there to help. George served with Steve in Germany and found him to be a good leader and always there for his men.
