Aunt Ernestine will always be remembered as our family's best neighbour...always gracious, always pleasant...as a young boy growing up on the old Hampton Road, I would catch the occasional small brook trout and the first person I would show my prize would be Ernestine, who bestowed me with her special smile of approval, and in return I offered them "for the cats", and she thanked me in such a nice way that any others I caught would be a special delivery to her front door.

Without a doubt Ernestine was the most unpretentious genuine person I’ve ever known. My memories of Frank, Ernestine and family go back to my childhood in Rothesay when we were neighbours back in the 60s. Ernestine was like a second Mom to me I spent so much time there, there were always things to do and the girls were like sisters to me. Even after we moved from Rothesay our families would keep in touch and the girls would often spend part of their Summers visiting in Harvey. Whenever I went back to Rothesay I would always drop in and visit Frank and Ernestine and there was never an Inconvenient time I was always welcome and had to have a bite to eat and talk over old times. Even though I was not able to visit Frank and Ernestine in their later years my thoughts were always with them, they were the last of their generation and dear friends of the family and I am left with wonderful memories of these beautiful people. My deepest condolences to Laurine Sharon Carol Carl & Ian, your Mom was the best and we are all better off because of her.
Sincerely
Dale & Rea Swan

Dear Ernestine, you were and always will be the loveliest person I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. You know how I tend to ramble on so I will try to keep this short. You were the first person to call me when my Dad died so the irony was not lost on me that you passed on the same day albeit eight years later. Please say hi to him if you see him and please give Stephanie a hug for me, she will love you as I did. Michele

What a great picture of your Mom! Always that great warm smile when we would meet her and your Dad. It is hard to believe how long we have known both of them , as Heather and I knew your Dad from RHS and we were teenagers (and going together!)
We are sure you have many happy memories to share.

Ellis and I have wonderful memories of Ernestine and Frank. We visited them several times when we would come up from Dartmouth. Always very welcome. We also took many trips together, especially into Maine to visit relatives. Also we took them down south, once to South Carolina, and another time to Florida. Ernestine was a very special sister-in-law to me , actually more like a sister as I don’t have one. She will be missed greatly. Ellis and I send our love to all our nieces and nephews plus all her grandchildren.
