My sincere condolences. I was a nurse in neuro and cared for Joan many times. It was never work to care for her, it was fun. And she let me wear her fur coat through the ward. Loved her.

My sincere condolences, Murray ,in the loss of your beautiful wife. My thoughts turn to Joan as I remember the phonecall she made to me when Jack was diagnosed with cancer. It was to reassure me he would do well and not to worry. And do well he did for five years. I made sure to thank her for this gesture every time we met. It meant everything to me at this very difficult time. May God bless you abundantly and your family as well.

Our deepest condolences to Murray and the family. We met Joan only 4 years ago when she attended our community party in Chapel Hill where she and Murray lived. She was a special lady.

To Murray and Joan’s family...especially our old babysitters, Cathy and Beth....we have such wonderful memories of Joan in our old University Avenue/ Waterloo Row neighbourhood. Joan would always smile and laugh though we knew her back was giving her trouble. The younger mothers would look at Joan...and her children....and hope that we were doing as good a job as she seemed to be doing and maybe “in 10 years” our lives would be like her’s. We loved knowing her and send our condolences to you all. Doug and Cassie

We are sorry to learn of Joan's passing. Murph and Joan spent many years as our neighbours on Alexandra Street in Fredericton, and our children grew up together. Those were great times, and still provide many wonderful memories. Joan never missed an opportunity to do friends a favour. Joan loved Fredericton, but we know she was happy to move back to Saint John where she grew up and had many friends. Although Joan suffered many years of pain, she always managed to warm the hears of others. She is a great loss.

Joan, if you are able to get this message I just want to let you know how happy I was to finally meet you at Terry and Mary's family Thanksgiving dinner in 2019. We are first cousins that had never met until that day, but when we did, I felt as if I had known you all of my life. Your sense of humour and youthful appearance was remarkable. I will never forget you or your elegant husband. You were a striking couple that journeyed through life's ups and downs and it was a joy to have spent time with you both however briefly. You will be sorely missed by him and all of those who love you. Your personality was larger than life and made quite an impression. Life's ups and downs have come to an end now and you will only know joy and peace.

Dear Murph,Margie,Terry and families my first remembrance of Joan was at her home in Fredericton I was in awe of her then and still am. Joan was such an elegant, wonderful, welcoming and friendly lady full of life and vitality and perhaps a little bit devilish too which made her even more attractive. Joan has had a rough few years with her health and now she is free of her pain. My sincere condolences to you all especially at this sad time of year.

So sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. She was always elegance personified. I remember knocking on their door early one morning, while on the campaign trail. When the door opened, there stood Joan, dressed to the nines, with a welcoming smile and an invitation to join her for tea I admit that I was a bit awed and intimidated by Joans larger then life personality but she quickly put me at ease and we enjoyed a lovely cup of tea together. I’ve since spent quite a few times in Joan and the Judges company. Witty, fun and always always elegant. Gods speed Joan. You will be missed.
