Obituary of Carol Jane Smallman
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Carol Jane Smallman-(Buckley- Clark) on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Kingsway Care Centre. Carol was born on June 13, 1948 in Cumberland Bay NB. and was the daughter of the late Orland Clark and Anna (Clark- Brown) Neves
Carol was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. She will be greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
During her life Carol worked many different jobs, but in her later years found a career as a support worker helping others and providing them care. Carol loved her cats and was a spiritual person who enjoyed reading her bible. She enjoyed spending time with her friends always ready to help them out with whatever was asked of her. Carol was a lifetime member of the Saint John Fish and Game Association. She loved to cook, read, knit and crochet. She made the best homemade bread and rolls. Carol loved anything and everything with an elephant on it and collected several throughout the years. She also enjoyed collecting angels that brought her a lot of peace throughout her life.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by her sons, K. “Michael” (Roula) of Mascouche, QC, Stephen (Tanya) of Saint John; daughters, Christa Winters (Paul) of Charlottetown, PE; Susan Hogan (Fred) of Rothesay; siblings: Dorothy Fallon, Rita Clark, Orland Clark (Leslie), Ronald Clark (Rose), Terry O’Hearn, Anna Mahar (Mike), Joanne Wetmore (Jackie), Rose Cunningham, Leslie Stanwood and Sheila Jones; former husband, Kenneth Buckley; step-mother, Betty (Elizabeth) Clark; grandchildren: Christopher, Sarah, Jessica, Rebecca, Stanley, Christian, Elizabeth, Maria, Katerina, Caitlain, Alison, Emily and Samantha; great-grandchildren: Markis, Claire, Ellie, Irelyn, Abigail, Ella, Nolan, Jaxx and Braydence; Lifelong friend Sharon ( Ron) Pangburn as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her siblings: Glenna Kuske, Raymond Clark, Laura Lester, Kevin Neves and brother in law Brian O’Hearn.
Her family would like to thank the staff , doctors and volunteers of the Kingsway Care Centre where she received excellent care since May of 2019.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd, Quispamsis, (849-2119). Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private visitation and funeral will be held. For those who wish to view the service, a Livestream will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 9:30 AM. To view the Livesteam, click the link stating, “Funeral Service for Carol Smallman” on the left hand side of her obituary. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
