Dear Tanya and children I was extremely saddened to learn the loss of Patrick. He was a great person, leader, and family man. I pray that God always be with him and his family. For over ten years, Patrick has served as a guest speaker for my MBA and business courses at UNB . Numerous MBA and business students as well as I were inspired by his talk. I will forever think of all of you. You have been in my prayers for a long time. I felt so much love for both of you and your children. I only met your children once before at the Home Lotto House with Patrick and they were sweet.I got the honor to speak to two of your sons at the wake and Tanya you and Patrick raised some fine sons. I've always prayed for all of you because I Patrick loved life with his family and you all deserved someone as wonderful as him. Well God will take care of this sweet man. As Steve Totten's younger sister, I have the fondest memories of Patrick being around as we were growing up in Millidgeville and I was so thrilled to run into him years later at Steve's 40th birthday party. That raspy voice, dry wit and twinkle in his eye...he still oozed cool just like when we were kids :) He was and will forever remain unforgettable and I feel lucky to have known him in some small way.

Tanya, our most heartfelt condolences are with you and your family. Patrick was a special person and is dearly missed. We each met Patrick as Finance co-workers at Bell Aliant. He was one of the most positive and genuine people we have ever met. Conrad has a fond memory from his first week as a new Bell Aliant employee back in 2005: “The week was quite a blur for me meeting a hundred new people and learning everything new. One of my first days at work Patrick and I crossed paths in the lunch room and he greeted me by name and asked me how I was settling in. I had no idea who he was at the time and would only learn later he was a very talented (and very young) finance director and I should probably remember who he was! He made a point of making everyone feel important and I really appreciated his gesture that day. I was not on Patrick’s direct team but we worked on the same floor for about 8 years in total. I remember volunteering with Patrick on the inaugural (and quite possibly only) Finance Movember Committee which was hilarious. He and I brainstormed various fundraising ideas together including the “touch-a-stache” contest. Patrick had excellent judgement and thankfully he vetoed this terrible idea with a laugh! I also had the pleasure of watching Patrick and his bandmates playing 90’s rock tunes at local venues on a few memorable occasions." Courageous on stage “rocking” and in life.

I was one of those people that Patrick connected to during his years at Aliant, even if only in passing. Although I didn't know him closely, I remember that Patrick was always a pleasure to have a quick word with in the hallways. Open, earnest, and inviting of conversation, always smiling and you always had the impression that his brief conversation with you was important to him, no matter how casual the theme was. I have no doubt that he would have touched a great many lives of the most casual of acquaintances in a positive way with these qualities, and that his positive experience would have been fantastically amplified to those that had the pleasure of being his close friends and kin. Even though his life was briefer by far than it should have been, he did a whole lot with it.

I met Patrick in london, ontario while receiving treatment. We would sample the local food and craft beweries the night before treatment. After treatment the next day we would have a pizza party in our lead rooms. Wonderful conversations, laughs, and living in the moment. Wonderful memories.
