Obituary of Oswald William Pyne
The death of Ossie Pyne of Quispamsis, NB, husband of the late Greta (Doherty) Pyne, occurred unexpectedly in his 90th year, on Monday, April 23rd, 2007, in Saint John, NB. Born in Chipman, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas and Edna (Murphy) Pyne. Ossie was a member of Rothesay Baptist Church, Branch # 58 of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a Veteran of WWII. Ossie is survived by three daughters, Elsie Hanson and her husband Ernie, Iris Down and her husband David, both of Quispamsis and Margo Lett and her husband Grady of Dartmouth, NS; one sister, Doris McInnis and her husband Fred of Chipman; nine grandchildren, Tracy Scott, Peter and Paul Hanson, Heather Haynes, Shane Tays, Joel and Stephanie Down, Kyral and Mia Lett; nine great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife, Greta and his parents, Ossie was also predeceased by one sister, Hazel Doherty; two brothers, Carl and Robert Pyne; two grandsons, Darren Hanson and Jason Lett. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 58 will be holding a Tribute to a Veteran on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 2007 at 2:00 pm from Rothesay Baptist Church on the Vincent Road in Quispamsis. Interment will take place in Redbank United Church Cemetery, Chipman, NB, on Friday at 2:00 pm. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.kennebecasisfh.com
