Obituary of William Mayo Peacock
The death of Mayo Peacock of Quispamsis, NB, husband of Diana (Mills) Peacock, occurred Friday, February 13th, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS in 1939, he was the son of the late John and Madeline (Field) Peacock. Mayo was an instructor of technology at NBCC Saint John campus for over 30 years before retiring in 1995. Mayo enjoyed his time singing in the Men of Fundy choir. Family and friends will always remember his humorous jokes. He loved photography, gardening, flowers, the internet and golf. Most of all, Mayo loved his family and he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Besides his wife of 45 years, Diana, Mayo is also survived by two sons, John Peacock (Krista) and David Peacock (Jennifer), both of Quispamsis, NB; five much loved grandchildren; several cousins and many special friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, 2009, at 2:00 PM, from the chapel of Kennebecasis Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service, at the funeral home. For those who wish, donations may be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick, the Extra Mural Program Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
