Obituary of Evelyn May Mason

The death of Evelyn Mason of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Donald Mason, occurred Saturday, May 16th, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Greta (Vey) Crawford. Evelyn was a faithful member of Rothesay Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir, for over forty years. She was involved with Club 60; as well as, the College and Career Group, for over twenty years. Besides her church involvement, Evelyn also enjoyed bowling and motorcycling. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Fletcher (Ted) of Whitehead Island, Grand Manan, NB; two sons, John Mason (Joanne) of Quispamsis and Tony Mason (Tommie) of San Antonio, TX; one brother, John Crawford (Shirley) of Saint John; four very special grandchildren, Melissa, Alexandra, Chris and Matthew; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, Evelyn was also predeceased by one brother in infancy, Jack Crawford. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22nd, 2009, at 2:00 PM, at Rothesay Baptist Church, 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis. Burial will take place in Whitehead Community Cemetery, Grand Manan, NB, at a later date.
