Obituary of Catherine "Grammy" Jean Downey

The death of Cathy Downey of Quispamsis, NB, wife of Don Downey, occurred Thursday, June 25th, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of Anne (Wyatt) Dunlop and the late Bob Dunlop. Besides her husband and mother, Cathy is also survived by two daughters, Jennifer Downey (David Ingleson) of Estevan, SK and Tanya Rogers (Phil) of Medicine Hat, AB; one son, Derek Downey of Quispamsis; four sisters, Mary Wright (Tom), Sherry Middleton, Sue Martin (Kim), all of Saint John and Linda Reid (Kevin) of Grand Bay-Westfield; one brother, Bill Dunlop (Karen) of Quispamsis; four grandchildren, Ryan and Ashlyn Ingleson, Zachary and Dylan Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119 with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Vigil Prayers will be held Sunday evening at 8:00 PM, from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 29th, 2009, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Quispamsis, at 10:00 AM.
