Obituary of Marjorie Pearl Thierman-Zegarchuk

The death of Marj Thierman-Zegarchuk of Quispamsis, NB, occurred on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Nauwigewauk, NB, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Emmalita (Kirkpatrick) Fraser. Marj served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Women’s Division) during WWII. She was Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #58 and was honoured with becoming a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion in 2003. Marj was employed as an Administrative Assistant at International Harvester Company in both Saint John and Lethbridge, AB. She continued her career at RA Woods Construction Ltd. in Saint John and prior to her retirement she was employed at RCS Netherwood School in Rothesay. Marj served as the Gondola Point Village Clerk and is credited with organizing the first Gondola Point Boy Scout Unit. She was also a valuable board member of the Boy Scout Association for the Kennebecasis Valley, Marj is survived by one daughter, Donna Andersen (Poul) of Calgary, AB; two sons, Doug Thierman (Susan) of Calgary, AB and Greg Thierman (Shelly) of Kelowna, BC; husband Myron Zegarchuk and family; sister-in-law, Jeannine Driver (Darrol) of Regina, SK and half-brother, Stuart Fraser of Nauwigewauk; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Marj was also predeceased by her step-mother, Gladys Fraser; her first husband, Dale Thierman and one son, Michael “Archie” Thierman. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 29th, 2009, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Andrews Kirk Cemetery, Hammond River. A reception will be held at the Legion Court Villa, 6 Hovey Road, Quispamsis, at 3:00 PM.
