Obituary of Theodore Freeman Jarvis
The death of Ted Jarvis of Quispamsis, NB, husband of Ethel “Jean” Jarvis, occurred on Saturday, September 26th, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, on April 10th, 1922, he was the son of the late Theodore Allen and Muriel (Ferris) Jarvis. Ted worked for the City of Saint John as a carpenter, retiring in 1987. Besides his wife, Jean, Ted is also survived by two daughters, Deborah Marshall and Catherine Kelly, both of Saint John; two step-sons, Wayne Potter (Kim Wallace) of Virginia Beach, USA and Phillip Gillis (Eileen) of Lepreau; three sisters, Connie Taylor (George) and Lucy Biggar (Limon), both of Fredericton and Jean Jarvis of Saint John; two brothers, David Jarvis (Helen) of Rothesay and Alton Jarvis of Owen Sound, ON; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian (Carr) Jarvis; one daughter, Brenda Jarvis; one sister, Ruth Toygerson and one brother, Jack Jarvis. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119. At Ted’s request, there will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, NB, on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009, at 11:00 AM. No flowers please.
