Obituary of Norbert Wilson MacKinnon
Norbert Wilson MacKinnon … It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our husband, father and brother, which occurred on Thursday, October 15th, 2009, at his residence in Quispamsis. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late William (Angus) and Frances (Campbell) MacKinnon. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille (Gallant) and their two children, Grant and Julie; two brothers, Walter (Sharon) of Charlottetown, PEI and Gerard (Susan) of Bedford, NS; along with, several nieces and nephews. Norbert had been employed for 28 years with federal government department Service Canada, as an Employment Insurance Investigator. He was a competitive curler, and a lifelong member of the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club, and was also an active member of the Hampton Golf Club. He enjoyed yard work, and many small home improvement projects. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Saturday, from 3-8 PM and Sunday from 3-6 PM, with Vigil Prayers being held at 4:00 PM on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19th, 2009 from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Quispamsis, at 10:00 AM. A private burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with the immediate family. His family is deeply appreciative of the kindness and patience shown him during his numerous visits to the hospital, by so many of the health care professionals at the Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online donations and condolences may be made at: www.kennebecasisfh.com
