Obituary of Myra Powell

Myra Vera Powell of Rothesay, NB, passed away peacefully with her husband, family and grandchildren by her bedside, on Friday, December 4th, 2009, at the age of 65. Born in Norris Point, NFLD; she was the daughter of the late Obediah and Marjorie (Organ) Northcott. Myra worked with Charm Diamond Centre prior to retiring. Myra is survived by her loving husband, Robert and three children, Kimberly Lanigan (Paul) of Quispamsis, Karen Powell of Saint John and Robert Powell (Giselle) of Rothesay; three grandsons, Christopher Lanigan, Dylan and Gabriel Powell; one sister, Marie Johnson (EZ) of Atlanta, GA.; two brothers, Gus Northcott (Olive) and Ted Northcott (Glenys), both of Glenwood, NFLD; as well as, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service to celebrate Myra’s life will be held at St. David’s United Church, Rothesay, on Friday, December 11th, 2009, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
