Obituary of Herman Weldon Wheaton
The death of Skip Wheaton, husband of Sandy (Palmer) Wheaton, occurred on Monday, June 7th, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sackville, NB, he was the son of Gertrude (Hicks) Wheaton and the late Herman K. Wheaton. Skip was employed with NB Tel for nearly 31 years, retiring in 2004. He was also a life member of the NBTel Pioneers. Besides his wife Sandy, and mother, Gertrude, Skip is also survived by four daughters, Melody Wheaton (Justin McInerney) of Saint John, Heidi Wheaton of Somerville, NB, Marcy Larabie (Matt) of Victoria Corner, NB and Emily Mitton (Ricky) of Saint John; one son, Cory Wheaton of Saint John; one sister, Judy Gillis (Neil) of Charlottetown, PEI; two brothers, Benny Wheaton of Moncton and Dale Shannon (Becky) of Dorchester, NB; twin granddaughters, Alexis and Victoria Larabie; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Rothesay Baptist Church, 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis, on Thursday, June 10th, 2010, at 11:00 AM. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will take place in Midgic Cemetery, Midgic, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
