Obituary of Bob Saunders
SAUNDERS, Robert (Bob) Willard Dann: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Saunders of Gondola Point, N.B., husband of the late Margaret (Peggy) Saunders, nee Whitlock, on August 27, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Born March 11, 1928 in Gondola Point to the late Herbert and Carrie (Dann) Saunders. Cherished father of Bobby (Angela), Lynn Chase (Brian), Debbie Higgins (Bob), Kim Beaman (Wade) and Jim (Krista); and loving grandfather of Shelly, Amy, Emily, Bobby, Sarah, Jaymee, Jessica and Luke. Survived by sisters, Vera Stephenson, Quispamsis and Inez Parsons, Saint John; sisters-in-law, Barb Mabey, Cambridge Narrows, Ferne Adams, Maine, Doffy Stanzione, Virgina, Carol Whitlock, Maine and brother-in-law, Fred Whitlock (Lorraine), Connecticut; and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Olive Saunders, Helen Wilson, Erma Bergeron and brother, Kenneth. Employed for many years with Imperial Oil Limited and went to work as a Development Officer with the Province of New Brunswick where he retired in 1993. Bob enjoyed fishing, deer and duck hunting and was owner of Forrester's Cove Skeet and Trap Club. In retirement he and his family built a log cabin where many summer days and nights were spent at the "camp". In recent years Bob loved tending to his flower gardens. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Sunday August 29 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 30 at 11:00 at St. Luke's Anglican (Gondola Point) Church, Quispamsis Road, Quispamsis.
