Obituary of Joseph Beverly Ward
September 29th, 1938 - March 9th, 2011 It is with great sadness and after a lengthy battle with Lung Cancer, the family of Joseph Ward announce his death. Joe died peacefully at his home in Rothesay, with his loving wife of 32 years, Beverley, at his side. Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Robert and Jean (Landry) Ward. Joe was employed at the Saint John Spring Works for several years and more recently was employed with the Bank of Canada until his early retirement. Besides his wife, Beverley, Joe is also survived by his daughter, Sherry Ward and son, Wayne Keating; sisters, Judy Tower (Charlie) and Theresa Mitchell (Allen); brother, Fred and many cousins from the Chatham area. Joe was predeceased by his younger brother, Richard “Ricky” and special companion and friend, his dog, Sheba . Joe will be fondly remembered for his love of country music, his singing voice that rivalled Johnny Cash and his ability to play any instrument he picked up. He will also be remembered for his meticulous skills in gardening and carpentry. Joe could grow or build most anything he put his mind to. In keeping with Joe’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Following cremation, all are welcome to attend a celebration honouring Joe’s life at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506) 849-2119 on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For those who wish, donations made to the Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
