Obituary of Emma Jean Wilson
Peacefully, at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis on November 2, 2011, Emma Jean Wilson, wife of the late Charles K. Wilson, daughter of the late James and Annie Christina (Chamberlain) Mullett. She is survived by her son, James Glendon Wilson (Jean) of Quispamsis; granddaughters, Patricia Lynn Coleman (Allan) of Toronto and Debra Ann McGrath of Quispamsis and great-grandchildren, Emma Marie and Joshua David McGrath; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by sisters, Christina (Mrs. Ernest Marr), Mary (Mrs. Chipman Lamb), Estella (Mrs. Harold Bishop), Sadie (Mrs. Wilber Kirkpatrick) and Muriel (Mrs. George Strong); brothers, Robert (Florence), Gordon (Sadie), Malcolm (Ada) and John (Margaret). Born at Gondola Point on August 17, 1917, Jean was a lifelong resident of the Quispamsis area. She was a talented seamstress and worked at various times at American Ladies Tailoring, Manchester Robertson Allison, Jean Gregg Interior Decoration and Calp’s Limited. She was a longtime active member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Gondola Point and later, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Hammond River. She enjoyed quilting, reading and spending time with her family. Jean made many friends during her nearly four years at Kings Way Care Centre, especially her good friend Margaret. Staff and residents enjoyed her sense of humour which was always there to brighten their day. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 11:00 AM, from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Hammond River Road. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at the church hall. For those who wish, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church or to Kings Way Quality of Life Programs (c/o Kings Way Care Centre).
