Obituary of Evelyn Mae Carleton
The death of Evelyn Carleton of Embassy Hall, Quispamsis, wife of the late Earl Carleton, occurred Wednesday, January 18th, 2012, at her home. Born in Moncton on December 19th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Dixon) Floyd. Evelyn was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served as Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #58. She enjoyed participating with the Rothesay and Quispamsis Seniors and loved bowling with the KV Golden Age Bowlers. She also was a member of #972 Edith Cavell Lodge. Evelyn is survived by her children, Zola Hamilton (Murray “Sonnie”) of Rothesay and Gary Carleton (Doreen) of Welland, Ontario; one sister, Marion Armstrong of Ontario and one brother, Vernon Floyd (Laura) of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Tanya, Trudy, Philip and Tim; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Lawrence Floyd. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Friday from 4-8 PM. A Legion Tribute will be held Friday at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held from the chapel of Kennebecasis Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21st, 2012, at 1:30 PM, immediately followed by a reception. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
