Obituary of Norman Roberts Hall
Norman Roberts Hall of Quispamsis passed away on February 4th, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Norman was born on July 22,1919 in Bayswater, N.B., the son of Joseph and Mabel (Cameron) Hall. During the Second World War, he served with the RCAF as an aircraft mechanic in Moncton, Sydney and Labrador. After the war, he settled in Quispamsis and worked as an automotive mechanic at various car dealerships in Saint John. He became a motor vehicle repair instructor at the New Brunswick Community College in East Saint John, a career he deeply enjoyed. He was a long standing member of St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Quispamsis, a Past Master of The Corinthian Lodge # 13 in Hampton, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kennebecasis Branch 58. Norman will be remembered for his deep love of his wife and family, his wonderfully eclectic mind and his great sense of humour. He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Herrington; daughters, Dale (Michael) Guitard of Darlings Island and Jeanne (Glen) Matheson of Debert N.S.; son Glenndon (Louise Dodge) of Saint John; grandchildren; Kathleen Guitard of Hampton, Daniel Guitard of Quispamsis and Alexander Matheson of Calgary; great grandchildren, Luke, Isaac and Martha; sisters, Grace Bostwick and Josephine Cairney; sister-in-law, Elta He was predeceased by his sisters: Vira Buckley, Doris Waddell, Hazel Lindsay, Alice Sherwood, Ethel Hatfield, Evelyn Burhoe as well as his brother: Bill Hall. During his illness, he was accompanied by two compassionate caregivers: Alex Ross and Jackie Ouellette as well as a wonderful friend, Keith Clowater. These people will forever be remembered for their loving care. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation Tuesday from 4-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 239 Quispamsis Road, Quispamsis on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11 am, with Reverend Chris Hayes officiating.
