Obituary of Richard Benjamin Shephard

Richard Shephard of Quispamsis, NB, husband of Karen (Oldfield) Shephard, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 24, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Ruth (Young) Shephard and the late Ralph Shephard. Rick graduated with Architectual Drafting from Saint John Vocational School and owned Designs Plus for over 25 years. He was a member of the Vegas Pool League for a number of years. Rick was always around lending a helping hand to friends and neighbours and was a loving Grampy to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter, Kelley Prosser (Randy), Quispamsis; son, Kevin Shephard (Melissa), Quispamsis; grandchildren, Jonah, Joshua and Sydney Shephard and Camryn Prosser; brother, Eric (Susan), Saint John; many nieces and nephews. Rick was predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Shephard, Ruth Ellen “Honey” Hooper and one brother, Paul Shephard. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 3-8 PM. There will be no funeral service by request. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Animal Rescue League.
