Obituary of John Scott
Scott, John Merritt – Passed away at Kings Way Care Centre in Quispamsis, NB on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the age of 84. Merritt was born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late John and Margerie Scott (Waddell). Merritt is predeceased by his loving wife Lillian Iola Scott (McCluskey). Beloved father of Michael Scott (Tracy) of Quispamsis, NB, Barbara Shannon (Brian) of Hampton, NB, Steven Scott of Saint John, NB and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kevin, Trevor, Brennan, Katie, Matthew, Chris and great grandchildren Kiona, Kennedy, Henry John and Sydney. Merritt is also survived by his brothers Joe Scott (Mitzy) of Summerville, NB, Ronald Scott (Betty) of Quispamsis, NB, Vernon Scott (Louise) of Summerville, NB, Harold Scott (Bonnie) of Smithers, BC and sister Barbara Davis (Larry) of Georgetown, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews. Merritt served in the United States Air Force for nine years and returned to Canada to start Scott Brothers, a home building business with his brothers. He enjoyed flying his airplane and his involvement with the St. David’s United Church Men’s Club. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 1-4 and 7-9 PM. A service to celebrate Merritt’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 1pm, with Reverend Linda Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehead Cemetery, Whitehead, NB. In Merritt’s memory, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kings Way Care Centre Foundation or Whitehead Cemetery.
