Obituary of Mary Regina Merritt
Mary Merritt of Rothesay, wife of Stanley Merritt, passed away September 21, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Quinlan) McDade. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Auxilary and St. Mark’s C.W.L. She loved crafting and gardening. Besides her loving husband, Stanley, she is survived by six children, Michelle Gilbride (Barry Stone) of Schubenacadie, NS, David Merritt (Carole) of Ottawa, Brian Merritt (Helene) of Blainville, Quebec, Glenn Merritt (Mira) of Montreal, Neil Merritt of Saint John and Nicole Merritt (Scott Morgan) of Saint John; sister, Christina McGee (Jim) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Jack and Murray McDade Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Sunday, September 23, 2012, from 3:00pm - 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Quispamsis, on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM. A reception will be held following Mass in the church hall. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the a charity of the donor’s choice.
