Dear Yvonne and family,
Charlie was instrumental in making my family and I feel welcome when we moved to St. Mark's. We are shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was certainly someone who could light up a room with his sense of humour and genuine heart of service. May you find some comfort in knowing how many people he has touched with his generous spirit.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let your light perpetual shine upon him, and may the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Richard and Jennifer Fabrizi and family.

I met Charlie when our center Origins Natural Valley had set up our classes there after a fire at our facility. Charlie was so sweet and kind to us all, educators and children. He did whatever he could to help us feel welcome and settled. We had many wonderful conversations about our faith and our lives. What clearly stood out to me was his love for God, his family and his bikes. The children loved to see Charlie coming and they would yell his name loudly whenever he was spotted. He loved showing the children his bike and let them all touch it, sit on it and have a picture taken. I knew him briefly but he made an impact on me and many others. My sincerest apologies to you Yvonne, his children and all his family and loved ones. He was a wonderful man.

What can one say about our Charlie - I have nothing but fawn memories of his caring when we lost my son Brian. His making sure our group had everything we needed at our Arts & environment at the church to make our work easier. And I can't leave out all the hard work he and his side kick Peter telling after our fall suppers that they were quitting, but they would show up in full force the next year with all their guys with Charlie the boss putting on another great supper. We went for 300+ to 700+. I will truly miss him. All my love & prayers to his family.

Charlie was my foreman trainer when I first started in the lineman trade back in '87. Many many fond memories of him. His teaching style was second to none, and a huge amount of the methods he taught me I still use today. Occasionally one of us would do something stupid. He'd would look at us with his infectious grin and say "please lord heavy on the wisdom" and walk away laughing and shaking his head. Charlie may be gone from this world but he will never be forgotten.

When we requested Charlie to cook his famous beef dinner for our 50 th wedding anniversary, his answer was “ no problem”.
Charlie also made sure I got the keys to the church so I could practice piano. My last words to him were “Thankyou” as he quickly insisted on taking off the piano cover

Charlie will be missed but he left us with a good example of discipleship.

and family for your loss. Charlie has left a lot of love here. He always bragged or shared about his faults. He often told us of some silly idea he would share with you Yvonne and your response to show your wisdom, humour and wit.
This was how he witnessed to our Lord. He shared stories of how he use to be. We saw the changed, generous and humerous man before us filled with the JOY of our Lord.
When I had my knee replacement in November 2020 and could not help out at a meal, Charlie delivered a Chicken dinner to us on Darlings Island.

I'm so saddened to know of this terrible tragedy. I am proud to have called Charlie a good friend and as a fellow rider of motorcycles this hits close to home. Charlie did so much good for those around him and he will be so sadly missed by many, not the least of whom me.

Charlie's corny jokes at gatherings in the Parish Hall at Saint Mark's; the very careful placement of the chairs in the church; his gentle professionalism in his spiffy suit while working at funerals; his joy in riding his bike - all these things and more will be forever remembered. Charlie taught me how to use the coffee machine, bless him! We are so very sorry to have lost his presence, and send our love and prayers to Yvonne and family. Gary and Brenda Renaud
