Obituary of Wayne MacKenney
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Wayne MacKenney, husband of Diane (Burley) of Quispamsis, announce his passing on Monday, September 27, 2021.
Born on November 26, 1950 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Calvin and Theresa (Doucet) MacKenney. Wayne owned and operated King of Windows since the 1980’s. He was Past President of the S.A.W.D.A.C., Past President of New Brunswick Insulators Association, and President of Great White North Trading Company. Wayne loved to travel the world and enjoyed collecting antiques. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending sporting events and reading or watching anything to do with history. Wayne was the happiest when he got to spend time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife of 52 years, Wayne is survived by his daughter Tracey MacKenney of Saint John, and his son Jamie MacKenney of Edmonton, AB, brothers and sisters: Kathy Boyd (Gerry) and Neil MacKenney of Saint John, Kevin MacKenney (Carolyn) of Passekeag, predeceased by Ryan Mackenney (Corey Keirstead) and Cindy Christie (Andrew) of Saint John, adored grandsons: Tanner, Corbin and Logan Brown, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many close friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the first responders and volunteers who worked so hard to bring Wayne home to us. We are forever grateful. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from Kennebecasis Community Home Chapel at 1:00 PM.
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the visitation and funeral mass will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption. For those unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Wayne’s obituary on Kennebecasis’ website.
