Visitation
Obituary of Wendy Robertson Gray
Wendy Gray passed away peacefully in her home on Friday October 15, 2021, at the age of 56, surrounded by her family after a bravely fought battle with colon cancer.
Born on September 26th, 1965, in Greenock, Scotland. Wendy and her family moved to Canada at the age of one. A brilliant, vivacious woman, Wendy loved making things; crafts, decorations, cards for every occasion, dance and Halloween costumes, and excellent food - anything creative was her forté. She loved it extra if there was glitter involved. This creativity led her to become involved in various community organizations, like Girl Guides, where she served as a leader for many years; and making dance costumes for groups big and small throughout her tenure as a dance mom. A loving wife, a wonderful daughter and sister, and a devoted mother, cancer never stopped Wendy from doing what she loved most - walking her dog Ellie, picnics on the beach, camping with friends, and of course updating her Instagram with her latest adventures. She was an extraordinarily intelligent person, and she had a habit of always telling you what you needed to hear, because she always knew best, even if you didn’t want to hear it. She loved fiercely, had no time for nonsense, and throughout it all made everything better with a sharp sense of humour.
Wendy was employed with X Wave and then with Work Safe NB for several years.
Survived by her loving husband and best friend, Bill Gray; her two children, Hannah and James Gray, her mother, Sarah ``Sally`` Doherty; her brother Philip Doherty; and the family pets Ellie and Inky, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Wendy was predeceased by her father, Philip “Phil” Doherty.
In keeping with Wendy’s wishes there will be a gathering of family and friends celebrating her life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 5-8 PM at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119).
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending Wendy's visitation will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
