Rolf was one of my favorite members when I worked the front desk of the YM-YWCA. He came through the doors smiling. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile. He was a big personality, who touched the lives of many people. He gave me the impression that he never met a stranger. Sad to hear that he passed. He was an amazing person. He will be missed by many.

We are very sad and we will miss Rolf greatly. A wonderful gentil soul , we met years ago at Sandy Beach. We shared many happy times during the summer months at the campground. Rolf made friends easily, he embraced life to the fullest and help others to do the same. He became a great friend to my Dad (Willie) who enjoyed Rolf very much so as we did.
Our sincere condolences to Donna and family our thoughts are with you all. Sending hugs to all of you.

My sincerest and deepest condolences to all the family on Rolf's passing. I worked for Rolf for 8 years at Canadian General Insurance and couldn't find a more caring, understanding, gentle soul that I had the pleasure to call my boss. Always complimentary, extremely insightful, full of great knowledge, and someone that you could trust. Working in insurance, he a great mentor and will never be forgotten. It was amazing when he would enter a conference room as it would instantly light up with his poise and charm. His greatest love was his family of whom he was so proud. Rest In Peace Rolf, it was a pleasure knowing you.
Sincerely
Bonny D'Entremont

He was caring, he was a teacher and he was a mentor. Forever with a compliment or genuine advice in his pocket to share. Rolf will be missed so much, by me and by our HUB International family.

My sincere condolences. It was a lovely ceremony. He was always so very kind to my children when visiting my sister in NB. He was a proud man and loved his family immensely. Here's a picture of Rolf with his daughter-in-law Diane (my sister) and me in Shediac with our cameras in-hand. He was giving me a few tips here on how to capture beautiful pictures.

We are all grieving the loss of our great pal, Rolf. He brought lightness and warmth wherever he went and was welcoming to all. We are grateful for his steady presence and leadership at the Y, and his contributions to so many cultural events and organizations in the community. What a great life he had and I’m so glad to have known him. I followed him on Facebook after he retired from City life and I know he and Donna were having a very happy time at their beach house. There was much more for him to enjoy and I’m sorry that he left so soon. My condolences to his family of whom he was so proud. Remember him well everyone!
Sincerely,
Joan Creamer

My deepest condolences for your loss. Rolf is someone I will always remember, he helped out whenever he could and I know the YMCA is stronger because of his contribution. He often offered support from the insurance side as well, ensuring the Y had all it needed. We are blessed to have such wonderful volunteers as we had in Rolf.
I am sharing a photo or the Endowment Board from 2014-2015, Rolf was a member at that time. The photo is taken at our Glenn Carpenter Centre before the Regional Y opened. We included this picture in the time capsule which now resides in the Regional Y.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

It is no coincidence that the sky danced with iridescent light the night that Rolf passed. ‘Some Nunavut Inuit from communities north and north-west of the Hudson Bay believe that spirits live in the sky and light torches to guide new arrivals as they approach death’.
Rolf had the ability to light up anyone’s day with his smile and haunting blue eyes. He was so warm and welcoming and truly interested in the lives of others.
He loved his family and friends with courage and strength. A life lived full of adventure and positivity. I will never forget his smile and generosity of spirit. My family and I loved Rolf and I am so very sad that he left this earth. I know his journey isn’t over and he will be protecting his loved ones from heaven.
I am so very sorry for your loss. All of my love and condolences.❤️❤️❤️

John and I have had the honor to meet Rolf a few years ago through our niece Ginette! Rolf and Donna became our summer neighbors. There cottage was right across from ours and we could not have had better neighbors and friends!! I saw him as a big teddy bear with the kindest heart and bigger than life!! Always working outside doing yard work . When you said hi his infections smile made you feel so good!! Him and Donna were so perfect together and every time you saw them on the veranda, they always waved. .Before Covid, if we walked by they would sometimes invite you to join them for a glass of wine and we would share wonderful stories and chatted about life! We were blessed to have know him and his memory will be forever be engraved in our hearts! Donna to you and your lovely family we want to expressed our most Sincere Sympathy and we send you love, prayers and healing energies! We carry you in our hearts!! Love John & Pauline
