My condolences to your family. John was an amazing coworker at PLNGS, as many have said, always looking on the brighter side of life. He was one of my go to Operators for years and was patient with me when I was a new hire getting to know the ropes. He will be dearly missed.

My condolences on the loss of John. We didn't work on the same crew but worked on each others often enough that a day with John was a special treat. I never saw him in a bad mood, even when things were going to hell he'd make a joke and wear a smile. He was a special man and everyone who was lucky enough to know him will miss him.

My sincere condolences to John's wife and family. I worked with John for several years at Point Lepreau. We were usually on different shifts but our paths crossed on many occasions. John also served on one of the town's committees when I was mayor of Rothesay. (I would have liked to have him years earlier, but I had to wait for amalgamation before Renforth became part of Rothesay. ) He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

We are so sorry for your loss Ellen and family. You and John are wonderful neighbors. We have had many great conversations "over the fence". John was always so great about giving us advice on our lawn, shrubs and flowers as we worked hard to try and keep up with the beautiful property John and Ellen worked so hard on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May wonderful memories of a very special person warm your hearts in the days to come. - Sandy and Jim Maxwell

My sincere condolences to the Hughson family. I heard of his passing last night after I had listened to a group of people mulling over the OMICRON variant spread and measures imposed in response, as well as the various attitudes expressed.
I closed my eyes and could imagine John entering the room, pausing a few seconds to reflect, and then offering a well-reasoned common sense approach to how people should view and react to the current challenge. An extremely well focused problem solver, beyond pettiness but with a wonderful sense of humor who was a great addition to the morale of our shift crew for many years.
Thanks, John, for being a part of our lives for so many years. Rest in Peace.

John was a great guy and he will be missed. I remember when John was working for NB Liquor in Riverview and he told a bunch of us he had a chance to take a course in Power Engineering with the intention of working at the new nuc plant someday and none of us could figure it out back then, who would want to work at a nuc plant and then I end up working at the same place a few years later. So sorry for the lost of an all round good guy. God bless.

You are not alone in your grief. John will always be remembered here at Lepreau. Things I remember about him: the humour he brought to work, when he got speakers for his office he would always have his music playing loud enough to share :), pride and hard work go without saying when it comes to John, he enjoyed breakfast with the people he worked with, he liked having his Tim’s coffee in the morning, he liked simple things. No one will forget his retirement the week of meat; everyday for a week we had a barbecue to allow the people to come to the trailer and say goodbye it was a memorable time. I am glad to have known and worked with him for the years that I have. He was a mentor and friend; he will be missed.

My sincere and deepest condolences to Ellen and the family.
John and I started at NB Power about the same time. He at The Cove and I at Dalhousie. We both ended up at Lepreau about the same time in 81 or early 82 both on E Crew. And for the next 18 or so years we were on the same crew for the most part. John became the big brother instantly, John deeply loved Ellen and the boys. He was a a good guy, family man, good ethic and moral values. Excellent at his trade craft and mentor to many. A couple of us were car nuts and John was the Crew Chief at Pennfield Dragway more than one of our infrequent Sundays off. He was a good wrench and when John did something he put his all into it. We lost touch after I relocated which is normal for most relationships. But mutual friends kept me in the loop. Huggy you will be missed be many. May you find an old drag strip in Valhalla and tune that small block mopar for the money run. Much love and respect. Shep

Johnny would always be here for ya. He'd know just what to say to help you out, to make you laugh, to let you know what he thought, and it was always very welcomed.
I enjoyed sharing the trailer meals with him and the team, and how welcome he made me feel, even before the small world moments from both Lepreau and Coleson Cove.
Thanks for welcoming me to the Trailer, and helping me out when I needed it.
Rest in peace, my friend.
