Obituary of Helen Muriel Agnew
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Helen M. Agnew (Donaldson), wife of the late John H. Agnew, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Glen Falls on June 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Muriel (Fillmore) Donaldson. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Early in her life, Helen worked at a Dry Cleaners and Restaurants, and had her own store in her home in Drury Cove. She was a member of the Liberal Association. Helen enjoyed family Sunday dinners, her glasses of wine, playing Pass the Ace on New Years Eve with family and friends, she enjoyed country music and the Blue Jays. Helen was a strong and loving person, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen will forever live through her children; Wayne (Barb), Brian (Bernie), Tom (Bonnie) and Pat Watson (Charles), grandchildren; Heather, Tracey, Bob, April, Neil, and Colin, great grandchildren; Sarah, Alyssa, Dylan, Kalem, Kaylee, and Madison, brothers; Ronnie (Helen), Jim (Louise), sisters; Jean Lawson, Margaret McCumber (Dave), Barbara Wright, Lorraine Abbott, sister-in-laws; Doris Donaldson, Betty Donaldson, Jean “Bunny” Donaldson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Helen is predeceased by her brothers, John, Bob, Bill, sister Vera, and long time best friend Kay Stevens.
Thank you to the Extra Mural nurses who came to the house to help with her care, and the nurses and staff of 5AS and 3BN at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis, NB, (849-2119) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Rothesay Baptist Cemetery, Gondola Point at a later date. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service can be viewed on Helen’s obituary page at www.kennebecasisfh.com
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CNIB or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
